Spectrophotometer Stray Light Performance Verification

NSG's solid state nano-deposition combined stray light verification neutral density (ND) filters are able to replace multiple liquid-based stray light verification filters.

Normally these liquid filters check stray light performance of spectrophotometers in 3 areas in the UV range and 2-3 areas in the VIS range. For each range a separate kit of liquid filters is required. This could mean that at least 3 kits and, often, a total of 5 - 6 kits of liquid stray-light filters (depending on a type of a spectrophotometer) are required to verify stray light performance of a spectrophotometer.
Each of the liquid kits for stray light usually costs about $1,000 and these kits can only calibrate in either the UV or VIS, not both.

The NSG FUV-0.5 stray light filter is only filter than can used to verify stray light performance of spectrophotometers in both in the UV and VIS range. This filter replaces over 12 liquid-based stray light filters of leading manufacturers, which allows customers the benefit of substantial savings of thousands dollars on cost of purchasing and recalibrating liquid stray light filters. Also, since only one stray light spectrophotometers’ calibration filter is required, it saves customers a tremendous amount of time on re-occurring verification of stray-light performance of spectrophotometers.

Researchers can easily spend over $3,000 on liquid stray-light filters, but the FUV-0.5 stray light filter costs a fraction of this amount. NSG sells this filter for a very low price because of our unique technology allows making these filters so precise and yet cost effective. Therefore, we want to ensure that researchers have access to the finest calibration standards available on the market today.

The FUV-0.5 filter can also be used to test neutral density in the UV and VIS range, from 200-700 nm.

NSG's FUV-0.5 combined stray-light/wideband UV-VIS 0.5 OD Neutral Density filter is NIST Compatible.
